Hopelogy is an AI companionship archive — NOT a licensed medical service.
Your messages are processed by third-party AI providers. Do not share sensitive medical, financial, or identifying information. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services immediately.
1. Introduction
Hopelogy ('we', 'us', 'our') is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and your rights over it.
This policy applies to all users worldwide. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you sign in via Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we collect your display name, email address, and a Firebase-generated user identifier. We do not store your Apple or Google passwords.
2.2 Conversation Data
We store your chat messages to provide conversation continuity. Your messages are transmitted to third-party AI providers (xAI Grok, Google Gemini, Cerebras) to generate responses. You are solely responsible for what you choose to share. Do not submit highly sensitive personal data including medical records, financial details, or government-issued identification.
2.3 Emotional Metadata / Insights
Our AI may generate derived data about your emotional patterns ('Emotional Insights') to personalize your experience. This is considered sensitive personal data. It is not shared with advertisers or used for external profiling.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data only to:
• Create and manage your account;
• Provide and personalize the AI companion experience;
• Transmit messages to AI providers for response generation;
• Maintain conversation history and emotional insights;
• Process and manage your subscription;
• Send service notifications;
• Analyze usage to improve the App;
• Comply with legal obligations.
We do NOT sell your personal data or conversation history. We do NOT use your data for targeted advertising.
4. AI Training Disclosure
We do not use your personal conversations to train public AI models. Your data is processed solely to generate responses within the App and to improve service quality and safety. This applies to data processed by both Hopelogy and its third-party AI providers, subject to their respective data policies.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We share data with the following providers only to the extent necessary to operate the App:
• Google Firebase — Authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting.
• Apple Sign-In — Authentication.
• Google Sign-In — Authentication.
• xAI (Grok) — AI response generation (receives conversation messages).
• Google Gemini — AI response generation (receives conversation messages).
• Cerebras — AI response generation (receives conversation messages).
• Apple App Store / Google Play — Subscription billing.
6. Data Retention
• Account information: Retained until account deletion;
• Conversation history: Retained until account deletion or deletion request;
• Emotional insights: Retained until account deletion;
• Analytics data: Up to 14 months (Firebase default);
• Crash logs: Up to 90 days.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS/SSL encryption in transit, Firebase encryption at rest, and strict access controls. However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from factors beyond our reasonable control.
